There are multiple travel options around Denmark. You will find several options on how to get from “A” to “B” in this guide:
- The “Citymapper”, voted the best travel app, and is now available in Copenhagen. It will show you options on how to get from “A” to “B” either by train, bus, taxi, uber etc.
- “Rejseplan”, download as an app or use the webpage (linked below). This is one of the most used travel apps in DK. Travel by train, metro or bus.
- “DSB” Train app. Tickets and traffic information for trains in DK. https://www.dsb.dk/en/
- “DOT” download as an app or use the webpage (linked below). This is also for travel by train, bus and metro. https://dinoffentligetransport.dk/
All of the options above will guide you around Denmark. You can either buy tickets on the app or at ticket machines at every station, or a third option, buy a “rejsekort” = travelcard.
What is a “Rejsekort” (travelcard)?
This is a card you can buy at either the ticket machines at the airport or train stations. When you buy the card, you top it up with money, and you “check in” and “check out” at every station. This allows you to always have a valid “ticket” and you can use it for metro, bus and train around Denmark. This is a good option, if you will travel around for a couple of days.
